Sakshi Kumar
Sakshi Kumar Lund (b. Karachi) is an artist whose practice spans painting and embroidered tapestries, reimagining the South Asian miniature tradition through a contemporary lens. Her work reflects on solitude, memory, and imagination, often creating portals where the celestial and the tangible converge. Chairs and ants recur as symbolic motifs—chairs as empty vessels of absence, and ants as weightlifters carrying the burdens of expectation and aspiration.
Her distinctive style balances meticulously rendered details with obscured elements, evoking the dreamlike quality of presence and absence, companionship and solitude. Trained at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, and also completed her MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts, London.
