Pallavi Paul

Pallavi Paul is a New Delhi–based visual artist and filmmaker whose practice spans video, installation, drawing, and writing. Engaging with the political imagination of cinema, she examines how regimes of truth, testimony, and resistance are produced and performed. Her work often investigates archives, legal records, and personal narratives, reimagining them through poetic and experimental moving-image practices.
Paul holds a PhD in Arts and Aesthetics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, where she researched documentary film practices in India. She has exhibited internationally at venues such as Tate Modern, Serpentine Galleries, HKW Berlin, SAVVY Contemporary, and Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Through her layered practice, Paul questions dominant historical narratives while opening up speculative and affective spaces for memory, politics, and possibility.
