Hannah Aira
Hannah Aria is a UK-based artist whose socially engaged practice combines immersive technology and visual storytelling. Her recent project, Window to the Soul Afghanistan, amplifies the voices of Afghan women through virtual and augmented reality. The work features a 360° digital gallery of women’s artworks, an immersive VR home installation, and AI-voiced AR portraits that protect participants’ identities while sharing their lived experiences. Developed with the Ipswich-based Almas group and partners such as Future Female Society and Voicesunveiled.org, the project foregrounds privacy and security while creating space for empathy and dialogue. Supported by Arts Council England, it premiered at DanceEast in 2025 and is set to tour internationally, connecting global audiences with Afghan women’s stories.
