Amshu Chukki

Amshu Chukki

India

Amshu Chukki is a Bengaluru- and Hyderabad-based multidisciplinary artist working primarily with video and film. His practice uses experimental imagery to imagine new worlds, informed by site-specific research and the intersections of landscape, cities, and speculative fiction. Drawing on cinematic excess, poetry, music, and geology, his works respond to rising political intolerance and environmental challenges.

Often using the recce as a narrative device, Chukki explores the visible and hidden connections between life, infrastructure, cinema, and urbanity. In his practice, landscapes become protagonists, staging conversations that move from local contexts to wider socio-political histories. His films often extend into drawings and sculptural installations, challenging normative docu-fiction approaches while reimagining public space, memory, and the politics of place.
